I've heard of a 'yeard' and I have to question the likelihood of no trimming being done in the process. I would think that not all hairs will grow at the same rate. Much like head hair, every now and then, you need to trim to make it look neat/good/even, etc. I only bring this up because I'm trying to grow my beard longer, and I notice that 1 side seems a tad bit longer. It kind of bugs me because even though I feel like trimming it, to make it even, perhaps it's just how it looks when it's dry?

the no trimming rule is kinda of purist deal.  I trim all the time, its just know how and what to trim.  my beard looks different day-to-day just like my head hair.   

if you do any trimming do it dry and try not to tug or stretch the hair or you’ll end up cutting off more than you think.
