From Beardimus Maximus & Taylor Gehring (Beard Competition Host):
I am hosting this competition to raise money for Children’s National Medical Center/ Children’s Miracle Network and the Rappahannock Area YMCA. All proceeds from sponsors and the event will be divided up to these Charities.
The competition wil be 10-12 individual facial hair categories with 1 Club Category. We will have awards for top 3 placed in each category and a surprise award for the Club Winner in the club category. I am working on getting the winners publicized in newspapers and magazines. There will be a 25$ fee for each contestant which goes to charity as well. It will be free admission for everyone else who is not competing. Registration will be available online in the next couple weeks.
We will have food/beverage vendors, also the Towne Center provides many stores, food venue, bars so there will be plenty to do for family (wives and children) at this event.There will be Beard product companies there selling their product.We will be having live music playing as well. This event will be advertised TV, Radio, internet and etc. We actually have a TV production company that will be there filming this event. The MC of the event is Bill Carroll from B101.5 radio station. There will be discounted blocks of rooms at the local hotels for people coming in from out of town. The night before there will be a Meet and Greet at Brock’s Riverside Bar and Grill which people can socialize over food and beverage.
For people that don’t know much about Fredericksburg, Va. It is very historical nice town. There have been many battles here going back to the 1800’s. George Washington actually lived here as a child. Its a great family area with a great amount of history!
