What my mind heard: You see less of your face when you have a beard. It's better that way. Without it you're just your normal ugly self. You should cover your face more.
What was actually being said: Bare faces are boring, I like beards. It has nothing to do with your face being "ugly." I'd prefere a man that isn't more manicure than I am.
